A computer needs a device driver in order for parts of the system to work properly,
like the graphics driver for your graphics card.
Updating your drivers is also important for better improvement, bug fixes and to fix important exploits.
But this can also cause the device to stop working if the driver has bugs.
Therefore you can disable a driver and reinstall it if necessary.
You can get the latest drivers of your device from the manufacturers website.
Third-party software (free and paid) is available to do this automatically,
but beware of scams and malware, so use at your own risk.
This tutorial will show you how to disable a driver in Windows 10.
A video tutorial is available at the bottom of the post.
Move your mouse to the Windows 10 icon, right-click and select ‘Device Manager’.
Select the driver you want to disable. You can find the driver inside the relevant category.
Richt-click on the driver and select ‘Disable device’.
A pop-up message will appear asking for confirmation and click on the ‘Yes’ button.
Be aware that disabling an essential driver may stop things from functioning
like the audio if you disable the audio driver.
You have now disabled a driver in Windows 10.
